Estella Dawn released her new single this morning. It is one of those feel good songs that will hopefully set the listener free from whatever they are uncomfortable being or saying. Remember to love yourselves, and one another.

What I like so much about “Vixen” from Estella Dawn is the message. That message being that it is okay to be comfortable with who you are. Regardless of your desires, body type/shape, or sexuality just be who you were meant to be.

Strong, independent women are often times viewed as difficult, bossy, or demanding, why? Creatives like Estella are what society needs more of right now. They open doors to people who might otherwise be afraid to open them themselves. Just remember folks, nobody will love you as much as the person does looking back at you in the mirror.

For most reviews I like to focus on vocals, lyrics, and production. Don’t get me wrong the vocals and production on Vixen are top notch, but the biggest selling point for me was the meaning behind the lyrics. I believe a lot of folks will find comfort in them. So much so that it may even empower them enough to permanently take off the mask that society says they should wear and just be themselves, or I at least I hope they do.

Vocally Estella reminds me a little of an indie pop version of legendary rocker Lita Ford. If you are wanting to add a song that is upbeat and empowering to your playlist “Vixen” from Estella Dawn is that song.
