Americana duo Jordan Crosby Lee and Jodi Hildebran Lee better known as The Couldn’t Be Happiers are a husband and wife singer-songwriter duo hailing from Winston-Salem, North Carolina. They have released their first full length album titled “Songs for Butchie, Vol.1” today. In my opinion, it will be a hit with Americana and Alt-Country fans everywhere. I also believe that their overall sound will win over lovers of traditional country as well.

The opening track “Treehouse” starts jumping right out of the gate. It plays rather well. It is similar to that of a sea shanty one would hear being sang in the pub. Vocally, Jordan and Jodi tend to me remind me of listening to some of the upbeat songs that were once sang by Johnny and June. I am so enamored by Treehouse that when listening I have visions of clog dancers, dancing away. It such a happy little song I am sure others will feel the same as I do. Originally being from New Orleans and as the song suggested I feel as though I could second line out of town to this song.

Next up is “Lightning and Thunder” consider this one to be the cool down from the previous. While I am sure there is a somber meaning behind the lyrics it is the way this one plays out that I like so much. This one could easily be played during a traditional barn dance,as more of a waltz. I love the slowed down tempo the most I have always been a sucker for slower songs. The combination of the fiddle and acoustic guitar really pulled me in, and the vocals held me there.

Next is “The Earthquake Song”, and I am off again on this crazy ride better known as Couldn’t Be Happiers. I am absolutely gobsmacked by the insane amount of talent I am hearing. I have never experienced such an incredible amount of highs and lows like I am at this very moment. Now, onto to my personal favorite “November”

I won’t go into too much detail about this one because I want it to be a surprise for listeners. I will say that lyrically it caught me off guard from the very start (in a pleasant way). Vocally it couldn’t be more perfect Jordan and Jodi’s harmonies are spot on and mesh well together. This song was written by Jordan for his late father, as someone who lost their father not too long ago themselves I love the meaning behind this one the most.

Songs For Butchie, vol 1. is the first of four songs from their full length album that will be released in three parts. I am really excited for you to hear this amazing duo. Please follow Couldn’t Be Happiers on social media, and stream Songs For Butchie, Vol 1.
