Someone from Shafto ft. Molly O’Brien.
This is probably without a doubt one of the most inspirational hip-hop songs I have ever listened. Irish rap artist Shafto with the help of Tasmanian singer Molly O’ Brien have presented an excellent example of what hip-hop was meant to be. Growing up in the early days of hip-hop I learned that true hip-hop told a story, and “Someone” from Shafto ft Molly O’ Brien has proven that real hip-hop is still alive.
From the moment the track begins the listener will be greeted with a sense of motivation and empowerment. The entire track is about believing in one’s self and becoming greater than our imagination has ever allowed us. I really dig the meaning behind it all.
The combination of vocals between Shafto and O’Brien really mesh well and help to bring the entire project together. The former takes the track in the direction that it needs to go while O’Brien helps to bring it home with her sultry vocal prowess. In my opinion, the two of them work well together to help keep the track fresh.
I have often said that music is magical beyond what most people realize, so much so that it has the power to uplift us all. “Someone” will be one of those songs that will help to turn around a bad day for the person listening. In mu opinion I feel anyone reading this should go playlist this amazing song immediately and share it everywhere they can.
