Night Crawling from Pennan Brae
On November 26th Vancouver musician Pennan Brae will release the much anticipated album titled “Planted”. From what I have learned the album is an ode to classic 1970’s garage band style rock. Night Crawling will be the second release of the forthcoming album. The song itself has a Rolling Stones, AC/DC vibe to it, and we love it.
The entire song is a throwback to a time when rock and roll was just that rock and roll, but the intro is probably my favorite part. I like the intro so much because it leans a little in the direction of Green Day. Crawling is very guitar heavy and driven song from start to finish. It actually reminds me of some of the bands that I also listened in the 80s. It is my opinion that this song lies somewhere between Adam Ant and The Rolling Stones. The guitar playing I would liken to Goody Two Shoes (Adam Ant) with the vocal style of Mick Jagger.
The overall production might have been performed in a studio, but it is the closest so far to an actual garage recorded sounding song I have listened to a very long time. It really is a fun song to listen to, in fact, I have listened to it so many times now I have memorized the lyrics. Be sure you playlist this one it is perfect for Halloween.
After listening to previous offerings from Pennan Brae I am anxious to hear the rest of Planted on November 26th once it is released. I think other listeners will agree once they hear Night Crawling.
