At first listen I was a little surprised, and this is because the title threw me off a bit. I was expecting some redneck national anthem about the glories of racing. WOW, was I wrong.

Popular urban legend says that the term “rock n roll” was a way saying people were making out in the backseat. Making the car rock, and when you were done you would roll on down the road. Later on whenever the mini-cooper became popular it became known as “motoring in a mini”. The cleverly thought out title “NASCAR” is perfect and fits the narrative of the previous two aforementioned terms.

Lyrically, it makes the listener pay close attention and pause to wonder if there are other implied meanings. Such is the line “speak to me in tongues”, one could ask if this was meant as a way saying what is on our mind once we understand the meaning of the title.

What I like about this song is that as wild and salacious that it appears there is also a message as well. That message would be not to be in a hurry sexually, but rather to slow down and just enjoy the moment, draw it out and just have fun.

I absolutely adore female rap artists. I believe they bring a much needed change to the typically male dominated genre. Queen Latifah said it best with her hit title “Ladies First”. If I were forced to make a comparison between MUNGMUNG and other popular female artist I would probably say she is a toss up between Nicki Minaj and Iggy Azalea. I would never place her in the same category of someone like Cardi B, and this is because I feel that MUNGMUNG is far superior.

Take a listen for yourself and don’t forget to add “NASCAR” to all of your playlists.
