UK Rock band Cellos released their newest single titled “Insomniac” this last Thursday. Filled with heart pounding drums, over the top guitar, and blistering vocals make this the song to be at the top of everyone’s playlist. I like what Cellos have released mainly because their overall sound on this one is a toss between 80’s rock and a little 90’s alternative.

The lyrics behind the song come together beautifully in a creative manner. In fact they speak to the “demons” we all probably have experienced that come with the inability to sleep. My favorite lyrics are “I can’t close my eyes, cos when I do there is something looking back at me”. This one line makes me wonder if we are our own demons when it comes to not be able to sleep.

Cellos have worked for 2 years on this album to perfect the exact sound that they were looking for. I am truly excited to hear what they will release next, and I will be sure and playlist it, just as I have this one. If you are on Spotify make sure you playlist it too. Follow them on social media, let’s help them build their following together.

Cellos prove once again why it is that I enjoy rock in the UK as much as I do, and it is because it has a classic sound to it. If you are a fan of alternative or 80s/90s sounding rock then I am confident that you will enjoy this song as I have.
