Normally, I don’t ever review full length albums, but after listening to Colosseums from The Institutes I decided I would review my favorite track on their new release. The track I like the most is All You’ll Ever Know and I like this one so much because it has one of the coolest vibes to it. Imagine if you could take the songwriting of 90s duo Oasis, the Vocals of 80’s The Cure’s Robert Smith, and the guitar style of 70’s band Blue Oyster Cult (Don’t Fear The Reapers). Combine all three of these, and you will have All You’ll Ever Know by The Institutes.

In General the LP is amazing there’s no other way to say it. Vocalist Reid Zappa Currie seems to have a way of stirring a bit of nostalgia with his timeless vocal prowess. Listening to him brings back fond memories of just riding around in the 90’s enjoying being young and carefree. I will be the first to admit that rock n roll from the UK is so much better than what we have in the US. I feel this is because musicians there still create music for the love of it, and don’t try to follow what is considered “edgy”.

I honestly can’t think of more perfect band that this one. Currie on lead vocals, guitarist and backing vocalist Andy Hall, Kirk Savage on drums, and Bassist Andy Lowe are brilliant together. I am genuinly happy that I decided to give their LP a listen. I had the door to my office open and listening to it loudly, and had several people stop to ask who I was listening to.

If an autographed vinyl album found its way into my mailbox I would not be upset, of course I am just teasing. If you are a fan of real rock n roll music that will take you back to your youth, then this is the band for you. There is not one song on the LP that will not be liked by someone. It really has a universal appeal.

Please give our Indie Rock playlist and Spotify profile a like and follow. We are still in the process of building our playlist, and it would not be possible without the support of the fans. We have added All That You’ll Ever Know to the number 1 position.

We don’t normally share concert dates but I think this is a band that should be seen live. If other bands wish to send their live dates when submitting music we will add those too.
